Based on the on-site monitoring in summer condition, analyses the operating performance of the ground-coupled heat pump system for an office building in Shanghai. The result shows that the most of running time in summer is at 40% of part load ratio (PLR), accounting for about 22.8% of the summer-time. The unit coefficient of performance (COP) is between 3.2 and 8.4, while the system COP varies from 0.9 to 5.2. Furthermore, the value of unit COP is mostly at 6, accounting for about 55.6% of the summer-time, while that of the system COP is mostly at 4, about 53.4% of the summer-time. Develops a multi-variation nonlinear regression model for the unit COP based on the monitoring data, whose R2 is 0.883, revealing that the regression model is good enough to predict the energy performance ratio for the similar heat pump system in summer condition. Based on the regression model, the unit power consumption will be largely reduced if the temperature of the user-side supply water is set according to the demand of building load, which can provide support for the future design and operation of ground-coupled heat pump systems.
